Your 14-Day Uganda Gorilla and Wildlife Safari begins when you arrive in Uganda. Your Berengei Africa Safaris guide will meet you at Entebbe International Airport or your hotel in Entebbe or Kampala.

After a short briefing, begin your journey north toward Murchison Falls National Park. The drive takes you through Uganda's countryside, with opportunities to stop for lunch and photographs along the way.

If your arrival and road conditions allow, you can make an optional stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino tracking — a useful addition to a long Uganda safari because it provides an opportunity to see southern white rhinos before continuing toward Murchison Falls. Continue to your lodge in or around the national park.

Wake up early for your first major wildlife experience. After breakfast, head into the northern sector of Murchison Falls National Park for a morning game drive. The savannah landscape provides opportunities to see elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, antelopes, lions and numerous bird species. With patience and good timing, you may also encounter leopards.

Return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation. In the afternoon, head to the Victoria Nile for a boat cruise toward the base of Murchison Falls. The cruise provides excellent opportunities to see hippos, crocodiles, elephants and other wildlife coming to the river to drink — a different perspective of the park's wildlife compared with a traditional game drive. Return to your lodge after the cruise.

After breakfast, enjoy another morning wildlife drive as you leave the Murchison Falls region. Continue south toward Kibale Forest National Park. The scenery gradually changes from open savannah to greener countryside and forested landscapes.

You will stop for lunch along the way before continuing toward Fort Portal and Kibale. Kibale is one of Uganda's most important primate destinations and is widely known for chimpanzee trekking. Arrive at your lodge in the evening and prepare for the following day's chimpanzee experience.

Today you enter the forest for chimpanzee trekking. After breakfast, proceed to the park headquarters for briefing before beginning your trek. Kibale Forest is one of Uganda's major chimpanzee destinations, and the forest also supports numerous other primates and bird species.

During your trek, you may encounter chimpanzees moving through the forest canopy or feeding on the forest floor. Other possible sightings include red colobus monkeys, black-and-white colobus monkeys, blue monkeys, olive baboons and other forest species.

After the trek, return for lunch. In the afternoon, you can visit Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary — the community-run experience is especially interesting for travelers who enjoy birds, monkeys, plants and local culture. Return to the lodge for the evening.

After breakfast, depart Kibale and travel toward Queen Elizabeth National Park. The journey passes through the scenic countryside around the Rwenzori Mountains. Depending on weather conditions, you may have views of the dramatic Rwenzori ranges.

After lunch, continue toward Queen Elizabeth National Park. An optional afternoon game drive can be arranged if time permits. The park is home to elephants, buffaloes, lions, leopards, antelopes, hippos and numerous bird species.

Wake up early for a morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park. The early hours are particularly useful for wildlife viewing because many animals are active before the heat of the day. Look for elephants, buffaloes, lions, Uganda kob, warthogs and other savannah species. Return to the lodge for lunch.

In the afternoon, enjoy a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel. The waterway connects Lake Edward and Lake George and is famous for its concentration of hippos and other wildlife. The cruise also provides excellent birdwatching opportunities. Return to your lodge after the cruise.

After breakfast, travel south through the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park. This region is particularly famous for its tree-climbing lions. Enjoy a game drive through Ishasha while searching for lions resting in the branches of large fig and acacia trees. You may also encounter elephants, buffaloes, topi, antelopes and other wildlife.

After the game drive, continue toward Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The exact lodge location will depend on your gorilla trekking sector.

Today is the highlight of your 14-Day Uganda Gorilla and Wildlife Safari. Wake up early and have breakfast before proceeding to the appropriate Bwindi trekking headquarters. After registration and briefing, begin your gorilla trek.

The trek can involve steep terrain, thick vegetation, muddy trails and changing weather conditions. Once you locate your assigned gorilla family, you will have a memorable opportunity to observe the gorillas in their natural habitat. You may see a silverback, adult females, juveniles and younger gorillas depending on the family. After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation.

After breakfast, enjoy a cultural experience around the Bwindi region. The Batwa experience provides an opportunity to learn about the forest heritage of the Batwa people and their traditional relationship with the forest.

Depending on the selected community experience, activities may include traditional storytelling, demonstrations, songs, dances and explanations of traditional forest knowledge. After lunch, spend the rest of the afternoon relaxing at your lodge. Travelers who prefer additional activities can request a community walk, nature walk or another local cultural experience.

After breakfast, leave Bwindi and continue toward beautiful Lake Bunyonyi. The drive takes you through the highlands of southwestern Uganda, with terraced hills and rural communities along the route. Lake Bunyonyi is surrounded by rolling hills and numerous small islands.

After arriving, check into your lodge and enjoy lunch. In the afternoon, take a relaxed canoe or boat trip across the lake. The experience provides an opportunity to appreciate the scenery and learn about some of the islands and communities around Lake Bunyonyi. Alternatively, you can simply relax at the lodge and enjoy the landscape.

After breakfast, depart Lake Bunyonyi and begin the journey toward Lake Mburo National Park. Along the way, stop at the Uganda Equator crossing for photographs and an optional educational demonstration. Continue toward Lake Mburo.

After lunch, enjoy an afternoon game drive. Lake Mburo is different from Uganda's larger savannah parks and is particularly known for zebra, impala, eland, buffaloes and other antelope species.

Wake up early for another wildlife experience in Lake Mburo National Park. Enjoy a morning game drive through the park. Depending on the route, you may encounter zebras, giraffes, impalas, buffaloes, warthogs and other species.

After lunch, you can choose between relaxing at the lodge or taking a guided nature walk. Walking in Lake Mburo provides a different safari experience because you are able to explore parts of the ecosystem outside the vehicle.

After breakfast, enjoy a final short game drive before leaving Lake Mburo. Continue toward Kampala and Entebbe. Stop at the Equator if this was not included on Day 11, or use the time for additional photographs and souvenir shopping. Continue to Entebbe. Check into your hotel and enjoy your final evening in Uganda.

Your final day is kept flexible according to your international flight schedule. After breakfast, your Berengei Africa Safaris guide will transfer you to Entebbe International Airport.
